Renato de Castro

Renato de Castro is a member of the advisory board of Smart Cities Asia 2016, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and of the global advisory board of Leading Cities NGO, located in Boston, U.S. He is the International advisor for The World e-Governments Organization of Cities and Local Governments, in Seoul; founder, executive board member and senior consultant at Baumann Consultancy Network for Smart Cities projects and internationalization strategies; Doctor of Business Administration candidate at Maastricht School of Management – MSM (His doctoral research topic: The effects of intense exposure to ICT in Smart Cities in consumer behavior of citizens). He has over 20 years of professional experience in developing market entry strategies and managing researches worldwide. He is also a writer and video blogger at Actual Smart City Magazine, the global-leading publication about Smart Cities with more than 400,000 monthly visits. Actual Smart City Magazine is present in 120 countries and 1,500 cities all over the world.

De Castro has 17 years experience of in academic lecturing as MBA professor and is responsible for the subjects/courses on international marketing and globalization strategies at several Universities in South America, Europe and Asia. He specialized in mentoring and advising startups for “going-global" strategies. 

De Castro has served as a keynote speaker, chair and moderator in international congresses and forums worldwide.  For 2016, more 17 speeches have already been confirmed.
